Pember Presents: Ray Gaylord talks about Granville
Join us at the Pember Library at when Ray Gaylord will lead a discussion about the history of Granville. Ray plans to start by telling us about the Native Americans who lived in the area. We’ll talk about the Revolutionary War era and the settlers who came here then and why they chose this area. During the mid-nineteenth century, many people moved here to work in the slate quarries. Join us on Saturday mornings for Fireside Story Time.  Pat O, MaryLou O, and Robyn L will each host one of the story times in August. A Treasure Hunt: Letterboxing, Geocaching & History combined in a family activity! Join us at the Pember Library  when Ann Rich Duncan will read from the latest book in her Johnny Vic historical fantasy series. Johnny Vic’s Nautical Adventure features historical and scientific information about Lake Champlain. Duncan will also lead craft projects including creating a rubber ship for use as a game piece to play Johnny Vic’s Crazy Cargo Game. Plant Sale
Plants are on sale at the library. Prices range from $2.00 – $15.00. There are some vegetable plants (tomatoes, cabbage, etc.), a few herbs (chocolate mint, & parsley) and lovely flowers.  There’s still time to add some great looking plants to your garden or pretty up your porch with a hanging basket!
Pember Presents: Dealing with Bullies
Have you ever been bullied? Chances are you have. Nearly all of us run into a bully at some point; name-calling, harassment, rumor spreading, etc. Combating bullies may feel overwhelming. New York State Trooper Phil Poitier will present a program at the Pember Library on Friday, July 17 at 6 PM about dealing with bullies. Friends’ Book Sale – Starts Today!
The annual Friends of the Pember Library Book Sale will take place at the Mary J Tanner School on Route 22 in Middle Granville. There will be thousands of books available. Most hardcover books will be $1.00 and paperbacks for $.25. Newer or special books will be individually priced. On Saturday from 1pm to 3 pm will be our $1.00 per bag sale using bags we provide.
Book Club
