First Friday at The Pember in Granville will feature artists of the Salem Arts Works on the theme of books into art. Recycled paper, covers and bindings as mediums of transformation in newly inspired creations – displayed in the appropriate setting of the library. Each of the artists have taken the raw material of the books and turned them into various kinds of art…paintings, collage, sculpture, etc.

Visual artist Jenny Hillenbrand, Artist Programs Coordinator and Curator of Salem Art Works will be on hand, along with artists Andrew Hayes, Denise Anderson, Micheal Bonadio, Julia Johnston, Adam Sorrano, Gary Humphry and Zac Ward.

Debbie Craig, harpist will provide music, and there will be food and beverages for the occasion…
Nearby, the Slate Valley Museum, will have a Sneak Peek of Slate as Muse, a behind-the-scenes look at how an art exhibition comes together for the upcoming juried exhibition.

First Friday is the first Friday of every month. Hours are always 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
