The New York State Library, in partnership with the New York Library Association’s Youth Services Section and School Library Media Section, presents selected reading lists that celebrate the history, culture, and diversity of New York State. Librarians who work with children and teens in both public libraries and school libraries across the State collaborated to select age-appropriate titles for recreational reading. Pember Presents: Karen Gallagher ~ “A Musical Trip Around the World”

The summer reading program theme at the Pember Library this summer is One World, Many Stories. Karen Gallagher is a music therapist working in hospital, group home and nursing home settings. She plays the flute with the Sage City Symphony and Washington County Band. She has been leading sing-alongs and encouraging others to make music for over 20 years. Teen Summer Reading

The teen summer reading program is headed in a whole new direction from our original plans. The teens are now planning to make videos of the local area. Pember Presents: Foolish Frogs

Storytelling duo TaraDiddle will be at the Pember Library on Saturday. Hear tales about foolish frogs, wide-mouth frogs, big blue frogs, and a little frog who made a difference. Linda will present awards from the summer reading reading program and will have a special treat for everyone!

Bake Sale

The teen summer reading group, Make Waves @the Library, will be holding a bake sale at the Pember Library 33 West Main St in Granville. All proceeds will be donated to the Rotary Club’s “Pure Water” fund to support a water filtration system in a third world country. Donations of baked goods may be dropped off at the library after 10:00 AM on July 31. For more information, call 518-642-2525.
