Take home maker kits are available weekly for children

Pember Peapods: On break- January 2026

(NOTE: PeaPods will not be meeting in June thru August)

Tuesday at 10:30 AM l We will have seasonal programs. Will be on break for the summer months of June thru August.

The stories, songs, and games are geared to preschool children. Parents / caregivers should plan to stay with their child for this program.

Paint and Pass

Two session first one Dec 9th for ages 6-11 and other December 12 for ages 12-17 both 3:30-4:30

This program is a group activity where everyone starts a painting and will keep passing the paintings around til they are finished

Sudoku: With Barb

This group meets on Wednesday 2:00 -3:30 PM to work on their current Sudoku project and help each other learn new techniques. Beginner and experienced  are encouraged to teach each other and to learn from each other. 

Read It and Eat Book Club-

Join our monthly adult book club! Have a book discussion and enjoy some food. Participants are welcome to bring food to share but it is not required For more information call the library 518-642-2525 or email pember.library@gmail.com

During the summer, we encourage school-aged children to continue reading by offering a NYS sponsored reading program.  There are programs for beginning readers through elementary school students and a separate program for teens.

Registration is limited to 1 “kit” per household/family.
You MUST pre-register, so there will be supplies for you.

During the activity, your child/children will be taught the basics of
container gardening. CCE will supply all the items you will need.
Kits will include 2-gallon pots, soil, plants, and seeds.
Kit plants may include: cherry/grape tomato plant
cucumber plant
marigold seeds
sunflower seeds
If you are willing to bring your own containers to plant in, please
indicate that on your registration

The Pember also welcomes various performers and presenters.

Computers for Seniors:

These are computer courses aimed at providing beginner and intermediate instruction including email and the Internet for senior citizens.

Classes are planned March 23-April 8. There are only eight spaces so sign up soon. We have gotten a grant for this through the Washington County Home for Aged Women and additional funding from the Friends of the Pember Library.
