Dutch Influence on the American Kitchen and Life
Food historian Peter G. Rose explores the foodways brought to America by the Dutch more than three centuries ago, and the way these foodways were adapted to new circumstances. Slides of 17th century Dutch art works depicting various foodstuffs are part of this lecture. Ms. Peter G. Rose is an author, columnist, lecturer, and food historian. Computers for Seniors
Beginning computer classes for senior citizens will once again be offered thanks to a grant from The Washington County Home for Aged Women and additional funding from the Friends of the Library. Barbara Young will teach six 1 1/2 hour sessions beginning March 21. Sign up now to get a place in the class. The class size is limited to eight people. UPDATE: The class is now full. Granville Heritage Society ~ Guns and Violins
The Granville Heritage Society will meet at the Pember Library, Sunday, April 10 at 2PM. The guest speaker will be Marie Butler. Marie will talk about her father-in-law, Floyd Butler, his gunshop and music lessons. There will be a powerpoint presentation as well as photos and artifacts on display.
Pember Board Meeting
This meeting has been re-scheduled for March 23. A meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Pember Library and Museum will be held on the third Wednesday of each month at the Pember. This is a regular meeting and open to the public.
Quilling Class
Quilling is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. Pre-registration is not required, materials provided. Pat O. will be leading the class.
