Looking for Volunteers
We’re looking for people willing to share their skills and talents. Do you have a craft or skill or specified knowledge that you can share with other people? Examples might be doll making, scrapbooking, or card making, clay crafts, other handicrafts. Can you show people how to make a poster or sign using our computers. Maybe you have special knowledge about photography or photoshopping, genealogy, local history. We could get a group together willing to help each other write poetry …
Red Cross Disaster Preparedness 1-19-2016 6PM
At the Pember Library: As residents of New York State, we are all at risk of different kinds of disasters. It has become clear over the past few years, especially after the last hurricanes, that New York is not as prepared for a disaster as it should be. Governor Cuomo’s Citizen Preparedness Corps Training Program provides New Yorkers with the knowledge and tools to prepare for emergencies and disasters, respond accordingly, and recover as quickly as possible to post-disaster conditions. …

1000 Books before Kindergarten
1,000 BOOKS BEFORE KINDERGARTEN SETS CHILDREN ON THE PATH TO SUCCESS . . . ONE BOOK AT A TIME Families are invited to join the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the Pember Library. The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program is a nationwide challenge that encourages parents and caregivers to regularly read aloud to their children.
