Pember Library awarded We the People Bookshelf Collection from National Endowment for the Humanities Granville, NY – The Pember Library is one of 3,000 libraries across the country selected by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the American Library Association (ALA) to received free hardcover editions of 17 classic books from the first We the People Bookshelf. February is Responsible Pet Owner’s Month
In honor of the pets we all consider family members, the Pember Library will have a display of books about pets. There will be a drawing contest for the kids with the prize being a long-arm bobcat. For the adults, there is a contest to see how well you know us here at the Pember. The person with the most correct answers will win a copy of the book Dewey by Vicki Myron. Linda’s Program
Linda has rescheduled her Saturday Holiday program to take place on Tuesday December 23 at 10:30. Look forward to snacks, activities and a story. The library will be open Saturday, December 20.
Save Money by making your own Holiday Cards
“Open craft night.” People can bring in their card making supplies and work here, sharing materials and ideas. Some basic materials you might bring: card stock, stickers, scissors, holiday scrapbooking paper, glitter, glue sticks, stamps & ink pads, etc. Below are some samples; there are several others on display at the library.
Linda’s November Program
Linda is planning a Thanksgiving program on November 22nd at 11AM. We will have Thanksgiving stories, crafts, tasty turkey treats, and a contest. All children are invited to attend.
Linda’s Halloween Program
Coming up October 25. Linda will present a program with crafts, stories and a puppet show, Fractured Fairy Tale, by the Junior Friends. This program begins at 11:00 AM.
October is Stamp Collecting Month
Come into the library and learn about stamp collecting. See topical collections of Love stamps, Boy Scout and Girl Scout stamps, space discovery and Celebrate the Century. There are also first day covers (FDCs), cachet covers, and brochures about stamp collecting from the USPS.
