The future of the Pember

Introducing the new addition to the Pember Library and Museum of Natural History, in Granville, New York! The addition will provide accessibility to each level with an elevator & new stairs. The exterior picks up on the personality of the existing library; with the marble veneer, trim bands & detailing but separating the existing to new with a more modern metal & glass link. Its going to be a nice addition to the Pember!

First Friday 2-2-2018

Appearing for the first time at First Friday is Dave Warner, who will holding a one-man show of his wood carvings at the Pember Library and Museum on February 2. A former resident of Pawlet now living in Granville, Dave will be showing over 60 works in wood from snakes and animal likenesses to barns, sailboats, repurposed golf clubs and the whimsical.

Dave joined a wood carving club in 2011 and studied under a master carver in Florida. He has exhibited at Southwest Florida Wood Art Expo and won several Blue Ribbons. “I’ve always had a fascination with snakes, having one as boy,” Dave recalls. “Then one day, I started carving them.”

Dave is bringing his tools and works in progress to the show and will be available to answer any questions. Some of his works will remain on display at the library through February.

And for your entertainment pleasure, the Altered Boys – Stephen Havel, Mark Catman and Cole Kitz will be back with their improvisational goodness.

First Friday is February 2nd., from 7 – 9 pm and is always free.

Take Your Child to the Library Day

February 3, 10 AM – 3PM

This will be a great opportunity for you to check out our library!
There will be story times at the top of each hour, games, crafts, Legos, a movie. Sign your child up for a library card.
There will be valentines, snowmen, Knuffle Bunny, Pete the Cat, and other books and stories.
