Knit-In
We’re going to have a “knit-in” group at the library. Beginning October 2, people can come in every Friday (2PM) and work on their knit or crochet projects and get help or encouragement or just have someone to chat with while they work. The group can work on individual projects, but should also do some projects for charity. Meet Henry Hudson
We are participating in the Hudson River Champlain Valley Heritage Weekend http://www.ny400.org/events/hudson-river-valley-heritage-weekend On Sunday, September 13, we will have a historical interpretation of Henry Hudson as portrayed by Don Thompson. The program will start at 1pm and the library will be open from 1-5 on Sunday.
Audiobook changes
We have added a new audiobook category: “New & Popular Audiobooks.” They can be checked out for two weeks with one renewal. There is a ‘new’ sticker on the spine and they are shelved separately. All other audiobooks can be checked out for four weeks and have one renewal. btw: this info is for physical audiobooks that are in our library. Our Overdrive collection of downloadable audiobooks default to a one-week checkout but you can manually change that to 14 …

Friends meeting
All are welcome at a meeting of the Friends of the Pember Library. The discussion will be a possible paperback book sale later in the fall and preparations for the annual holiday open house.
Book Club
The book club will be reading “Thunder at Twilight: Vienna 1913 / 1914” by Frederic Morton. It describes the events leading up to WWI. Please join us for a discussion of this interesting period in history.
