Teen Summer Reading

You are Here

Summer reading is not only fun, it helps you to keep up when you return to school in the fall. New York State libraries are following the theme of “One World, Many Stories” this year and teens are encouraged to explore the world through reading with their theme “You are Here!” Use the Pember Library and its resources to choose a place you’d like to visit. Investigate global customs, cultures, artifacts, architecture, technology, language and more. Follow your interests through books, maps, food, poetry, Internet searches, and our own Granville resources.
Students from sixth through twelfth grade can sign up at the library or online at http://pember.sals.edu for our teen summer reading book club. Travel the world without leaving our own community. We will meet on July 27, and August 10 at 4:00 PM. Our concluding activity will take place on August 24 at 6:00 PM when Karen Gallagher will take us around the world with music.

Pember Board Meeting

A meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Pember Library and Museum will be held on the third Wednesday of each month at the Pember. This is a regular meeting and open to the public.

Taradiddle

Taradiddle will help us kick off the summer reading program for children.

Help tell a Spanish-infused Panamanian tale of a trickster rabbit, learn the magic song that brings the python down the mountain in a story from Zimbabwe, and maybe even revisit some Norwegian billy goats! Fun for the whole family.
