The Summer Reading Program for parents and children in grades K-6 will begin on Saturday, June 23, from 11 a.m. to noon.
Designed to encourage elementary- aged children to keep reading during summer vacation. The program will follow the statewide theme, “Libraries Rock.”
Hunter Bassett, of Granville, will orchestrate the program locally. It will encompass all things rock from geology to Rock n’ Roll.
Granville’s ninth grade entertainer Adam Andrews will start the program with a “rock music” performance.
A special craft will be available for children and delicious refreshments for all.
Additional children’s programs include: – Saturday, July 7, 11 a.m. to noon, slate painting – Saturday, July 21, 11 a.m. to noon, sand bottles and rock mosaics Programs are free, but preregistering is appreciated, due to limited space.
