The Pember Library and Museum is starting a print cartridge, cell phone, iPod, digital camera, GPS device and laptop recycling program. This program is free and convenient for our organization and will generate CASH to be spent on items that we need. It’s an alternative to the traditional fundraisers because there is no buying or selling – only collecting what would normally be thrown away. The teen summer reading group, Make Waves @the Library, will be holding a bake sale at the Pember Library 33 West Main St in Granville. All proceeds will be donated to the Rotary Club’s “Pure Water” fund to support a water filtration system in a third world country. Donations of baked goods may be dropped off at the library after 10:00 AM on July 31. For more information, call 518-642-2525.
The annual Friends of the Pember Library Book Sale will take place at the Mary J Tanner School on Route 22 in Middle Granville Friday and Saturday, July 9 and 10, beginning at 9:00 A.M. each day. There will be thousands of books available. Most hardcover books will be $1.00 and paperbacks for $.25. Newer or special books will be individually priced. On Saturday from 1pm to 3 pm will be our $1.00 per bag sale using bags we provide. …
Today is the last day to get your bids in for the wonderful items up for auction. Final bids will be accepted at the dinner tonight. It looks like we will have a full house for dinner and dancing at the Lake St Catherine Country Club.
