Phantoms Partner With Southern Adirondack Library System

GLENS FALLS, NY – The Adirondack Phantoms, proud AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, announced today that they have partnered with the Southern Adirondack Library System to present Check it Out.

Check it Out! is a program that offers Southern Adirondack Library System cardholders $2 off an adult ticket, and $1 off a child’s ticket for the remaining Wednesday home games at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Five eligible games remain between February 10 and April 7. Simply show your library card at the Glens Falls Civic Center box office to receive special Check it Out pricing. The Phantoms remaining Wednesday games are as follows:

February 24th vs. Syracuse Crunch
March 17th vs. Hamilton Bulldogs
March 24th vs. Albany River Rats
April 7th vs. Binghamton Senators

We will continue to have a “knit-in” group at the library. People can come in every Friday (2PM) and work on their knit or crochet projects and get help or encouragement or just have someone to chat with while they work.

We have a pattern and yarn to begin the “lapghan’ for the Haynes House.  If my calculations are correct, we should have enough yarn to make a second one that will then be raffled off for the library.

All knitters or crocheters welcome and donations of yarns or materials cheerfully accepted!

UPDATE: There has been quite a bit of interest in the afghan (lapghan). I have decided to buy more yarn and we can make another one. Respond to this post letting me know what colors you might like and I will buy the yarn this weekend.

The current project is using Red Heart yarns in Sage, Buff, and Sage Mary (variegated with the sage, buff and some purple).

We also have a three-ring binder with other forms and instructions you may need. You may photocopy these at $.10 per page. Other photocopies will remain at $.15.

The Open House was a great success. The food was good, fellowship enjoyable, music entertaining. The sap bucket auction is complete and I will be notifying people if they won on Tuesday.
