Holiday Auction

Posted by Ardyce on 21st November 2012

November 30, 2012
6:00 pmto8:00 pm

This is a silent auction of gift-able items which may include Christmas decorations, store-bought or handmade items, artist pieces and who knows what else. Bidding on the items will run from 6:00-7:00pm. However, they will be displayed at the library in the previous week(s) and you will be able to bid on them then.

One of the items up for auction

This auction will be different from our summer auction. Usually we have a bid sheet where you can see the current bid amount but this will be a mystery auction. Each item will have a decorated bag where you will fill out a bid slip including your name, phone number, item # and the amount you wish to bid. You’ll drop the slip into the bag and no one will know who the highest bidder is until we begin processing the items from 7:00-8:00pm. You don’t need to be present to win your item; we can call you. When you enter your highest bid, you are making in good faith a commitment to purchase that item at the price you write on the slip. This is a fundraising event to help out the Pember. As we process the bids, there will be refreshments and music for your entertainment. We’ll pass out the highest bidder slips and there will be several stations where you can pay and take home your treasures. We would like to wrap up the event by 8:00pm.

see for photos of items we have so far.

Besides having silent auction items, we have lots of items for sale. Many are made by local artists. The Museum gift shop also has toys, plush animals, books and handmade jewelry items. You don’t have to wait for our Holiday Auction on November 30th. Come in now to make your gift purchase. You can also view and bid on the auction items. A portion of the proceeds, and in some instances, all of the proceeds, go to benefit the Library and Museum. Click here to see a selection of what we are offering for sale.

Handmade Christmas cards. Blank on the inside for you to add your holiday sentiments. Cards will be sold for $3 each.
