Join us at the Pember Library and Museum to celebrate Barnyard’s 30th birthday on Saturday, May 24 from noon to 1:00pm! Miss Bernie is putting on a celebration for her Yellow-naped Amazon Parrot named Barnyard, also known as Burt, Burta, Burtha and Birtie. Yes, she has many names! Miss Bernie will be providing the cake, even for Barnyard. No chocolate here. We want a cake that she can enjoy too. There will be a door prize of a new 12″ plush Wild Republic Cuddlekin Macaw Parrot, along with a slide presentation on Parrots of the World. It’s still in the planning stage, but will sure to be a bash. There will be other parrots for viewing and Igor, the Ringed Barbary Dove will also be attending the celebration . Wear your favorite parrot color t-shirt! Barnyard asks that you don’t bring her any presents, just a small donation for the Library and Museum. It’s her way of giving back, since they allow her to come to work with Miss Bernie to see all the children. If you are planning to come, please call the museum at 642-1515 to rsvp. We want to be sure we have plenty of cake!
