First Friday ~ Roy Egg Wild Animal Paintings, Blues Harmonica at September First Friday

It’s not every day that the Pember can bring a bonafide celebrity local artist to First Friday.  So we are very proud to have our very own, twinkle-eyed Roy Egg, for a solo show!
Roy is best-known for his painted roosters, hens, and eggs, but he also paints other barnyard creatures, and actually, no subject is banished from his brush!  To bring awareness to world hunger, he once did over forty paintings of food and the animals that provide it.  Another time he painted his chickens dressed as royalty or leaning on motorcycles!
Roy studied at the prestigious Art Students’ League in New York City and has received much acclaim for his work – and he’s been a personal guest at the White House twice. A write-up of Roy’s West Pawlet gallery and art is currently mentioned in Garden & Gun magazine.
For September First Friday, Roy will bring us a series of large, wild animal paintings.  There’s a white rhino, elephant, large cats, peacocks and other jungle creatures.  And Roy will be on hand to dispense his trademark witticisms and answer any questions.
Appearing at First Friday for the first time will be Bad Dog Spike, musician Kenny McGivern with his rockin’, bone chillin’ harmonica blues.
Food and refreshments will be available. Hope to see you there!
First Friday is September 4th, from 7 – 9 pm.
