It has become clear over the past few years, especially after the last hurricanes, that New York is not as prepared for a disaster as it should be. Attention young artists! The Pember Library and Museum is seeking artwork submissions to illustrate a soon-to-be self-published story featuring Lucy the library cat. Children grades K-6 are invited to visit the library during its regular hours to meet Lucy and spend time on their artwork. 1,000 BOOKS BEFORE KINDERGARTEN SETS CHILDREN ON THE PATH TO SUCCESS . . . ONE BOOK AT A TIME Families are invited to join the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the Pember Library. Granville sixth graders will be showcasing their “No Strings” puppets at November First Friday at the Pember Library and Museum in Granville, NY on Friday, November 6, from 7 to 9 pm. Created last term as a project in Granville Elementary School, the puppets were the result of a puppet making workshop coordinated by June Brown and Vermont’s No Strings Marionette Company.
