Movie Night ~ Who ya gonna call?

We plan to have a movie at the Pember the third Friday of each month. Due to licensing restrictions, we can’t list the titles we will be showing online but there will be posters and bookmarks in the library. We plan to alternate classics with newer releases. October’s movie takes place in NY City with a famous scene at the New York Public Library. Who ya gonna call for more information? Please call the Pember Library at 518 642-2525.

Learn to use your e-reader

If you’re still confused by your eReader, join us for a class on the basics of downloading eBooks. Bring your eReader with you and any questions you may have. For more information call the library at 642-2525.

Quilling class

Pat O will teach us more quilling or feel free to join us if you have a project you are working on and just like to chat while you are crafting. Quilling is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. Pre-registration is not required, materials provided. Bernard A. Margolis, Assistant Commissioner for Libraries and State Librarian, is pleased to announce the selection of electronic products to constitute the NOVELNY (New York Online Virtual Electronic Library) statewide collection through June 30, 2013. In 2012/2013, NOVELNY offers an encyclopedia, strong general reference and periodicals content, business, news and health concentrations, an interface and content for children, and author information. Book Club

The book club decided to read more of Mark Kurlansky's books. They are well-done and interesting. They also plan to read 1491: New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus by Charles C. Mann for their November meeting. More info will posted. The book club will discuss books written by Mark Kurlansky. He has had 23 books published including fiction, nonfiction, and children’s books. Fall Sale at the Pember

We have lots of VHS movies and audio books on cassette that didn’t make it to the summer sale. We will have a special sale of these items on September 29, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. There may also be some paperbacks for sale. All proceeds will benefit the Pember book acquisition fund.
