Join us at the Pember Library at when Ray Gaylord will lead a discussion about the history of Granville.
Ray plans to start by telling us about the Native Americans who lived in the area. We’ll talk about the Revolutionary War era and the settlers who came here then and why they chose this area. During the mid-nineteenth century, many people moved here to work in the slate quarries.
Copies of some of the photographs from the Morris Rote-Rosen collection will be on display and the quilt from the Village Hall will be on view.
We will welcome questions and appreciate any facts that audience members may want to share.
Ray did a great job with this and the audience joined in with tidbits of interesting information about Granville’s history.
