Book your Holiday

Posted by Ardyce on 28th November 2008

It’s Black Friday so probably many of you have been out and about since 4AM. Did you find any great buys? Do you shop online? Is your holiday shopping all done or are you waiting to see if there will be better sales just before Christmas?

I have been gathering small items for a couple of months now and everyone in our family knows that spending is cut way back this year. Stockings are being filled from the dollar stores.

Magazines and books are usual gifts in our family along with electronics and automotive stuff. Our children are grown so we don’t even look in toy stores anymore (but I think the boys might still enjoy putting together a Lego kit.)

If you are a member at the Pember Library, you could win this Nora Roberts book or the Santa plaque to use as a holiday gift by sending an email through the email link to the right. You only need to include your name and phone #. (We won’t share that info.) You may also enter by coming in to the library and filling out an entry blank. Two winners will be randomly selected from all entries submitted by December 15, 2008.

We have a winner

Posted by Ardyce on 8th November 2008

Here are the results of our first online contest. We hope to do more in the future!
Mary Higgins Clark – Where are you now?
Why I deserve to win this book.
This book will be a gift to my mother who has been there for me for forever. She’s a simple person who likes gardening and reading. She tells me that the best gift I can give her is a book, because as a child growing up during difficult times, she would escape by reading. Christmas and her birthday are the usual times I give her books. However, I would like one to give her for “just because.” Because in the last few months she has been more supportive than ever and I want her to know how appreciative I am.

Another book was won by -M. and the other three books will be donated to a library in need.
