Library Launches Online Book Club
Finding a Great Book to Read Just Got Easier So many books, so little time. For all those busy people, the Pember Library has a new service sponsored by the Friends of the Pember Library: an Online Book Club that delivers books electronically. Each day, Monday through Friday, the library e-mails subscribers a portion of a book that takes about 5-minutes to read. They’re able to read two or three chapters from a book during the week. Ice Cream Social and Art Reception
Join us Saturday, June 6 from 2-5 PM, for Kid’s Day, the kick-off event in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Pember. Stewart’s has generously donated the fixings for kids to make their own ice cream sundaes. Other highlights of the day will be music with DJ Brent Tuttle and balloon animals and other activities with Melody the Clown. There will be goodie bags for the kids. Genii McRoberts
I remember Genii’s daughter coming in to the library asking if we needed a volunteer. Boy, did we! Genii came in and helped us with cataloging and transferring all of our books from our old automated system to a new one. She worked hard, always with a sense of humor. Her dedication to books and libraries shows in the children’s room where she devised and implemented our color coding dots system. She had wonderful stories that she shared with her …
Discussion group planned
