There will be cat books, dog books, books of local interest, vampire books, art books, young adult books, stories ranging from Scooby-Doo to Shakespeare, and much more. There is even a lump of coal to fit in someone’s stocking!
We will also be raffling off a Northshire Bookstore gift certificate.

HeritageQuest webinar
Do you love HeritageQuest but wish you could get a little more out of it? ProQuest is offering training webinars to help you. There is one September 17 at 2:30 PM and another October 14 at 12:00 PM.
http://www.proquest.com/en-US/support/training/webinars.shtml
From the above link, choose “genealogy.”
You can access these from home but you do need to register in advance. The webinar should take approximately two hours. To register for a webinar, click the Event name in the Upcoming Events section or view a recorded webinar in the Event Recordings section.
We are unable to offer access to these at the library because the sessions are so long. If you are like me, and are working at the time these are scheduled, you can view a recording of a previous training session.
The Friends of the Pember Library have provided funding for the HeritageQuest database and many people are taking advantage of the ability to do historical and genealogical research online using the books, magazines and records available.
Friends’ Book Sale continues
The Friends sold LOTS of books yesterday and the tables have been refilled and they are ready for today! For the best selection, be there from 9 am – noon. The $1.00/bag sale starts at 1:00 PM. Still a little bit of everything to choose from.
Donations and Volunteers needed for the book sale
The annual Friends of the Pember Library Book Sale will take place at the Mary J Tanner School on Route 22 in Middle Granville Friday and Saturday, July 9 and 10, beginning at 9:00 A.M. each day. There will be thousands of books available. Most hardcover books will be $1.00 and paperbacks for $.25. Newer or special books will be individually priced. On Saturday from 1pm to 3 pm will be our $1.00 per bag sale using bags we provide.
Donate your gently used books to the library. Now is the time to clean out your shelves so you will have room for all the books you will find at our sale! Please, no encyclopedias, textbooks or books that are destined for the dump.
We are seeking volunteers for Wednesday, July 7 beginning at 9:00 A.M. to move the books from the Pember to the Mary Tanner School. We need strong backs and large vehicles. Wednesday and Thursday, we will be sorting the books and putting them out on tables.
Donations are accepted at any time the library is open. We are located at 33 West Main St in Granville. If you have large amounts of books to donate, it would be best to call ahead so we can have someone on hand to help unload your vehicle. For information, call 518 642-2525.
