Knit-In

by

We’re going to have a “knit-in” group at the library. Beginning October 2, people can come in every Friday (2PM) and work on their knit or crochet projects and get help or encouragement or just have someone to chat with while they work. The group can work on individual projects, but should also do some projects for charity.

Our first charity project will be preemie hats to donate to the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit at Fletcher Allen. I have patterns in both crochet and knit and I’m working on a sample preemie hat. Another possibility would be afghans or lapghans for the Haynes House of Hope. The group can discuss other charities for future donations. It will be up to the group whether they each do a project or they each do a square or two and make a group project to donate.

All knitters or crocheters welcome and donations of yarns or materials cheerfully accepted! If we do a group project and you can’t make it to the library, I will give guidelines and you can send me a piece for the project.

Audiobook changes

We have added a new audiobook category: “New & Popular Audiobooks.” They can be checked out for two weeks with one renewal. There is a ‘new’ sticker on the spine and they are shelved separately. All other audiobooks can be checked out for four weeks and have one renewal.

btw: this info is for physical audiobooks that are in our library. Our Overdrive collection of downloadable audiobooks default to a one-week checkout but you can manually change that to 14 days for a specific book before you check out or set your own personal default. After logging into the website go to “My Account” and then click on “Lending Periods” to set a personalized default of 14 days.
