Here are the 100 children’s books that were donated to us by the Pilcrow Foundation with the help of the Friends of the Pember Library. Look for them in various places in the library. Most are in the children’s room on top of the bookcase. Nonfiction for older children is in the window in the main room. And fiction for older children is on top of the book case near the copier. Please come in and “check them out.”

The Pember Library and Museum will feature the work of artist and photographer Tom Atkins for its March First Friday event. A native of Virginia, Tom is based in West Pawlet, VT and works out of his new studio at the Mettowee River Meeting House in Middle Granville, N.Y. “I am primarily a poet and unabashedly abstract artist,” says Atkins. “The challenge is to take line and color, creating art that is abstract, yet tells stories and evokes emotion.
