New Books for Children
The Pember Library received 67 new books for toddlers through high school in July. The books were awarded to the library through the Libri Foundation of Eugene, Oregon “Books for Children Grant.” The grant is a matching funds grant in which the library can receive up to $1050 worth of books provided they raise one third of the cost outside of the library’s regular budget process. Donations and Volunteers Needed for the Pember Book Sale
The Friends of the Pember Library and the Slate Valley Garden Club will again join together to present their annual Books, Buns, and Bouquets Sale.  The event will take place at the Mary J. Tanner School on Rte. 22 in Middle Granville, NY on Friday and Saturday, July 13 and 14, beginning at 9:00 am both days. Summer Reading ~ Explore New York
The New York State Library, in partnership with the New York Library Association’s Youth Services Section and School Library Media Section, presents selected reading lists that celebrate the history, culture, and diversity of New York State. Librarians who work with children and teens in both public libraries and school libraries across the State collaborated to select age-appropriate titles for recreational reading. The four lists are designed for reading enjoyment, to provide a “flavor” of New York, and spark an interest …

A Father’s Gift
Just in time for Father’s Day, join us at the Pember Library on Sunday, June 10 at 2:00 PM when Tim Bryant, author of “A Father’s Gift” will be doing a reading and book signing. Tim’s book is a collection of stories from a time when the family farm was the economic center of Vermont. Princess tea party
Join us for a Princess Tea Party. We will have stories about princesses, crafts and tea party snacks. All princesses are encouraged to wear their favorite princess dress. Granville Area Girl Scouts will be reading the stories and helping with  the tea.
