Pember Board Meeting
A meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Pember Library and Museum will be held on the first Wednesday of each month at the Pember. This is a regular meeting and open to the public.
Knit-in continues
We will continue to have a “knit-in” group at the library. People can come in every Friday (2PM) and work on their knit or crochet projects and get help or encouragement or just have someone to chat with while they work. The group can work on individual projects, but should also do some projects for charity. We have over 60 hats to send to the neonatal intensive care unit at Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington. Lucy’s Party
Lucy had a great Halloween. She’s looking forward to her party next Saturday. In celebration of her third birthday, the Rutland Animal Shelter will be here. There may be some kittens here who are waiting to be adopted and at least one puppy looking for a home. In lieu of gifts, please bring donations for the shelter: dry cat food towels blankets cats toys love We will also accept cash donations to buy kitty litter and  nutritious food  for Lucy.

Apple Dessert Contest results
First Place in the “Anything but Pie apple dessert contest” went to Robyn Lipshutz with her Apple Caramel Bars. Judi Brown’s Jewish Apple Cake was the second place winner with Theresa Loomis’ “On a whim!” sauteed apples  and Tamika Carty’s Gala Concord cookies tied for third. Sixteen entries, six incredible judges, a cool emcee, and four great prizes made the Pember Library’s first annual “Anything But Pie” contest a success!
Pember Presents: Ray Gaylord talks about Granville
Join us at the Pember Library at when Ray Gaylord will lead a discussion about the history of Granville. Ray plans to start by telling us about the Native Americans who lived in the area. Have you ever been bullied? Chances are you have. Nearly all of us run into a bully at some point; name-calling, harassment, rumor spreading, etc. Combating bullies may feel overwhelming. Friends’ Book Sale – Starts Today!
The annual Friends of the Pember Library Book Sale will take place at the Mary J Tanner School on Route 22 in Middle Granville. There will be thousands of books available. Most hardcover books will be $1.00 and paperbacks for $.25. Newer or special books will be individually priced. On Saturday from 1pm to 3 pm will be our $1.00 per bag sale using bags we provide.
