We are participating in the Hudson River Champlain Valley Heritage Weekend http://www.ny400.org/events/hudson-river-valley-heritage-weekend On Sunday, September 13, we will have a historical interpretation of Henry Hudson as portrayed by Don Thompson. The program will start at 1pm and the library will be open from 1-5 on Sunday.
We have added a new audiobook category: “New & Popular Audiobooks.” They can be checked out for two weeks with one renewal. There is a ‘new’ sticker on the spine and they are shelved separately. All are welcome at a meeting of the Friends of the Pember Library. The discussion will be a possible paperback book sale later in the fall and preparations for the annual holiday open house.
The book club will be reading “Thunder at Twilight: Vienna 1913 / 1914” by Frederic Morton. It describes the events leading up to WWI. Please join us for a discussion of this interesting period in history.
