Amnesty Days

If you have been dreading returning that long overdue copy of Twilight or the GED Study Guide that’s been on your bookshelf for months, now is your chance! And as long as it’s in good condition, it won’t cost you a cent in late fees.

The Pember Library is holding “Amnesty Days” starting today and running through March 5. During this stretch, library patrons can return materials without incurring any fines.

Library users can return any overdue materials belonging to the Pember. The library materials must be in good condition. That means more money in your pocket while the library gets back its books and other items. (If you have overdue items from other SALS libraries, bring those in; we’ll get them sent back to their rightful owner.) The main reason for “Amnesty Days” is to get books and videos back on the shelf so that other people may read or view them.

Return your items without penalty and make items available for public circulation again. The amnesty restores borrower privileges once overdue materials are returned. The amnesty does not pertain to overdue fines still on record from previously returned or lost materials.
