We’re changing our hours
In these tough economic times, the Pember Library is cutting back on hours. Our new hours beginning December 1: Tuesday 9-5 Wednesday 1-5 Thursday 1-8 Friday 1-5 Saturday 10-3 We are planning to reinstate the lost hours in the spring.
Story Time
Story time this week will be about Thanksgiving. Let’s sing “Over the River and Through the Wood” Babies, toddlers, and older children with their caregivers are welcome.
Try a new author
If you try reading a new (to you) author, you may be pleasantly surprised, or you may be disappointed, but it’s certainly something you should do to get out of your reading rut.  I have recently read two books by new authors, Jane Haddam  and Linwood Barclay.  Haddam’s Cheating at Solitaire was a disappointment to me.  Liking the game solitaire, I was looking forward to a good book.  However, after getting more than half-way through it, I found little reason to continue.  Barclay’s …

Annual Holiday Open House
Please join us for our annual Holiday Open House. Our lovely Victorian building will be decorated in celebration of the holiday season.  We will have snacks, music and something for the kids! We coordinate our Open House with the Slate Valley Museum so you can also visit there across the walking bridge.

Save Money by making your own Holiday Cards
“Open craft night.” People can bring in their card making supplies and work here, sharing materials and ideas. Some basic materials you might bring: card stock, stickers, scissors, holiday scrapbooking paper, glitter, glue sticks, stamps & ink pads, etc. Below are some samples; there are several others on display at the library.
